Membership & Accreditation - What's the Difference?
Membership & Accreditation - What's the Difference?
ACHETS Membership means that an individual or corporate organization is affiliated/part of ACHETS. ACHETS Membership is the status that a member is given when membership is approved. Membership aims to support professionally and aid in progressing the career/profession of members. Accreditation is the act of granting credit or recognition, especially to an educational institution that meets the standards and guidelines of the Association for Christian Higher Education and Theological Schools. It ensures that the academic credential a student works so hard to obtain means something substantial, and that it will be recognized as such by employers and other post-secondary institutions.
Accreditation has become increasingly important in a number of professional areas, and in some specialised areas students graduating from non-accredited programmes may be unable to join a professional association, gain registration, or find relevant employment.
Accreditation is necessary to any person or institution of Christian higher education that needs to prove that they meet the ACHETS quality standards.
